It looks like Lili Reinhart, who told her Instagram followers that the seventh season would be the last, was right after all, "Riverdale" is finally coming to an end with Season 7. The CW made the announcement as part of the Upfronts 2022 presentation.
In light of the network’s recent cancellations of “Batwoman” and “Legends of Tomorrow,” it’s not a complete surprise that “Riverdale” will be ending in the upcoming season. And while it is disappointing for fans, the actors have been working on the show since 2016 and are probably ready to move on.
Series lead KJ Apa stated in a 2017 interview, "It's so hard when you're shooting 10 months out of the year, 22 episodes on a show, it's hard to find time to do another project.” He also talked about how he didn’t want to get typecast as Archie, now with his schedule opening up, we can’t wait to see what he does with it.
