Quentin Tarantino
Picks A Steven
Spielberg Classic
As The Greatest
Movie Ever Made
By SHANE O'NEILL
Quentin Tarantino is one of the best auteur filmmakers of our time but he also understands that watching other peoples' films is just as important as going out and making one himself. And he believes that Steven Spielberg is responsible for the single-greatest movie ever made.
In August of 2022, Tarantino stopped by Cinemablend's "ReelBlend Podcast," where he revealed his top pick for the greatest movie of all time: Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic, "Jaws." Tarantino feels it is a well-directed movie that revolutionized how audiences and industry professionals view blockbuster productions.
Even Spielberg recognized the importance of the film when he sat down in a 2006 interview saying, "I credit 'Jaws' with everything [...] 'Jaws' gave me freedom, and I've never lost my freedom." The classic film undoubtedly went a long way in making Spielberg a Hollywood legend and it’s easy to see why Tarantino holds it so dear.
