“Peaky Blinders” actress Helen McCrory sadly passed away in 2021 before she could film any scenes for the new season, and her character Polly Gray will be missed by her fans and co-stars alike. The show’s lead Cillian Murphy has confirmed what many fans already suspected about McCrory.

According to Murphy, the member of the cast most likely to make people laugh on the set was McCrory. He told BBC Radio that they were good friends and her sense of humor was essential to him as so many of the show's scenes were "psychologically demanding."

"You have to have some levity to balance it up and I always had an amazing laugh with Helen," Murphy said. “She would always take the mickey out of herself just taking the mickey out of me."
