Patton Oswalt Is
Eager To Return
To One Of His
Marvel Characters
By PATRICK PHILLIPS
For those keeping track, Patton Oswalt's Marvel resume so far includes voicing Uncle Ben in the animated "Spider-Man" series, playing all of the Koenig brothers on ABC's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and voicing a legendary supervillain on Hulu's "M.O.D.O.K." Although some would hesitate to call him a superstar, he has certainly earned that title.
However, out of all those roles, Oswalt seems most eager to reprise Pip, the boozy, motion capture troll in 2021's "Eternals." Oswalt admitted as much in a recent interview after being pressed about rumors that Pip and Harry Styles' Eros (aka Starfox) may be the focus of an "Eternals" sequel, saying that while it would be a gamble, it would be the dice he’d like to roll.
Although, the Marvel bosses may have an unsatisfactory response for Oswalt, as "Eternals" boasts one of the lowest box-office hauls of all the 28 MCU films to date and the lowest Rotten Tomatoes rating. Consequently, it is unlikely the studio will ever approve a sequel to "Eternals", let alone a spin-off series.
