The Hulu smash hit “Only Murders in the Building” Season 2 finale confirms that the show’s been picked up for a third season, with Paul Rudd joining the cast. If you’re wondering how long the show can go on and how these deaths keep occurring, showrunner John Hoffman shares with The Hollywood Reporter that he’s not short of ideas.
“I think there’s great variety [in terms of the stories that can be told]. I know there have been funny discussions about how many murders can there be in one building, but I think that’s a fun challenge, too,” said Hoffman. Although there’s no end season in sight, Hoffman remains open to expanding the world when the show does come to a close.
When asked about the possibility of doing an “Only Murders in the Building” spinoff five or 10 years later, Hoffman said, “I could see a lot of versions of potential for that, absolutely. There is something endlessly fascinating about a great mystery.” The series has the potential to expand into a universe, even after the original story concludes.
