Monk Actors You May Not Know Passed Away

Meat Loaf

Legendary rock star Meatloaf made a “Monk” appearance in Season 8's "Mr. Monk and the Voodoo Curse," but will always be remembered for his music and appearing in the film adaptation of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” He passed away in January 2022, and no official cause of death has been released.

Robert Loggia

Oscar-nominated actor Robert Loggia appeared in Season 7’s "Mr. Monk Takes a Punch," but his storied career spanned more than half a century. Loggia passed away from Alzheimer’s disease in 2015.

Willie Garson

Consummate television actor Willie Garson made just one appearance on "Monk" in Season 3, as Adrian's long-suffering landlord Leo in the episode "Mr. Monk and the Panic Room." He sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in September 2021 and will be best remembered for playing Stanford Blatch in the hit HBO series “Sex and the City.”

Charles Durning

Charles Durning kept acting right up until his death from natural causes in 2012 and some of his notable performances were in classic movies like “The Sting,” “Dog Day Afternoon,” and “Tootsie.” You can watch him on “Monk” in the Season 5 episode "Mr. Monk Goes to the Hospital."

Doris Chillcott

Canadian actress Doris Chillcott had a brief but memorable role in the two-hour pilot episode of "Monk," where she played the mother of a murdered mayoral candidate's aide. Chillcott was a veteran film, television, and stage actor, as well as an educator in the Vancouver school system before passing away in November 2006.
