Crossover Event
To Fast & Furious

For the first time in “Law & Order” history, the franchise’s three series came together in a massive, three-hour crossover event called "Gimme Shelter." While discussing his debut as Detective Jalen Shaw on the 22nd season premiere of "Law & Order,” Mehcad Brooks compared the crossover event to the movie franchise, "The Fast & the Furious."
Brooks explained it was the massive scale of the production that led him to see a connection between the two, stating, "The production value is incredible. It felt like we were shooting 'Fast & Furious' in New York."
Showrunner Rick Eid confirmed the massive scale of the shoot, stating in an interview, "Unlike other crossovers, this is structured and produced [on an epic scale]," He also explained that they didn't include title sequences between episodes in order to make it feel less like three back-to-back episodes and more like a three-hour movie.
