- What We Know
So Far

Masamune Makabe, the teenage protagonist in the rom-com “Masamune Kun No Revenge,” needed someone to teach him that plotting revenge against a girl that rejected him is a jerk move. The first season ended with a major cliffhanger, but with no official word about a Season 2 for years, fans began to lose hope — now it looks like some good news has finally arrived.
More than five years have passed since the finale of “Masamune Kun No Revenge,” and during much of this time, studio Silver Link has shared next-to-nothing about the series’ continuation. Finally, in April of 2021, the show announced that a second season is in production, but it’s unlikely the new season will premiere until sometime during 2023 at the absolute earliest.
The show primarily follows Masamune and Aki’s love story, beginning with Masamune, a pudgy child asking the beautiful Aki on a date; however, Aki ruthlessly rejects him and nicknames him “Pig Foot.” Heartbroken, Masamune dedicates the following years to becoming fit and attractive, so that he can ask out Aki and then harshly reject her, as Aki did to him.
The first season ended with a major cliffhanger that left Masamune conflicted about his revenge plan once he found out about the true reason Aki rejected him all those years ago. Masamune and Aki shared a close moment before she leaves for Paris, and it left Masamune wondering if he should go after her, but only time will tell until Season 2 premieres.
