Tom Ellis, the star of Netflix's "Lucifer," has always been vocal about his passion for the show. First, he spoke out about his heartbreak when the series was first canceled by Fox, and after a fan campaign led Netflix to pick up "Lucifer" — and this time, the show was allowed to run until its conclusion — Ellis opened up about his fight for the right to do his own stunt work.
In an interview with Collider, Ellis said that he wanted to drive Lucifer's car for real every time the show required a driving scene, but producers were concerned about the star's safety. "I had to fight to drive the car in the actual show, from time to time," Ellis stated. "They were like, 'We've got stunt drivers.' And I was like, 'Please, let me drive it.'"
It’s unclear if Ellis won this battle, and the actor admitted that driving Lucifer's car was extremely difficult, saying that the vehicle is "an absolute beast to drive. It's like doing a workout." Still, one has to commend the actor's dedication to playing the devil, to the point where he was willing to adopt Lucifer's habits at the wheel.
