Lorraine Maxwell has emerged as a recognizable presence for regular viewers of “Law & Order: SVU,” but some fans may not know the actress playing the intense trial division chief.
She’s played by veteran actress Betty Buckley who has a decades-long history of appearing in some very notable productions across film, TV, and even Broadway.
Buckley’s first film role was alongside Sissy Spacek in the 1976 horror classic “Carrie,” in which she portrayed the well-meaning schoolteacher Miss Collins.
She then got a starring role on the sitcom “Eight is Enough” as Abby, and in later years, had recurring and guest roles in shows like “Preacher,” “Supergirl,” and “Chicago Med.”
