Jennette McCurdy was once one of the biggest stars on kids’ TV, starring as Sam on the hit Nickelodeon show “iCarly” opposite Miranda Cosgrove (Carly). McCurdy recently published her memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” which details the abuse she suffered at the hands of her late mother and on the set of “iCarly” and “Sam and Cat.”
Starring Ariana Grande opposite McCurdy, “Sam and Cat” followed the events of “iCarly,” and McCurdy says that Grande had flexibility to work on other projects, while she did not. Additionally, McCurdy has made serious claims about abuse on set, and says that Nickelodeon offered her $300,000 to keep mum about her experiences working for the network.
After the end of "Sam & Cat," McCurdy had a few more significant roles, most notably on the Netflix series "Between," but has mostly stepped away from acting. According to The Washington Post, she is currently focusing on writing and directing.
