How Did Storage
Wars' Barry
Weiss Make His
Fortune?
By SAM SKOPP
Barry Weiss was a cast member of “Storage Wars” for its first four seasons and returned for its thirteenth season in 2021, delighting fans who enjoyed his idiosyncrasies. Weiss was an amateur in the storage locker buying business at first, but had the capital to dive in headfirst, leaving fans to wonder where he made his initial fortune.
Shortly after “Storage Wars” debuted, Weiss told AOL TV in a now-archived interview that he “was in the produce business for 20‑25 years, and I retired about four years ago.” Weiss added, "I owned a produce company, and we exported and imported, my brother and myself." According to his time frame, Weiss ceased working in the produce industry around 2007.
The company that Weiss ran with his brother seemed to be named Northern Produce and continued to operate for seven years after Weiss retired, though it is now defunct. He still seems to have access to the fortune he made with the company, however, as he made his 2021 return to “Storage Wars” in a 1939 automobile equipped with a flamethrower exhaust pipe.
