House Of The
Dragon Episode 4
Offers A
Clue About
Game Of Thrones
By NINA STARNER
One of the most debated prophecies among “Game of Thrones” fans is the prophecy of the "Prince That Was Promised,” also known as the reincarnation of legendary warrior Azor Ahai. However, Episode 4 of “House Of The Dragon” might have offered an intriguing clue to this enduring mystery.
In Episode 4, Viserys shows Rhaenyra a dagger with words inlaid upon it that read, “From my blood come the prince that was promised, and his will be the song of ice and fire.” This references back to the show's first episode, when Viserys tells her that Aegon the Conqueror predicted a long winter that only Targaryens could fight — which he referred to as the "Song of Ice and Fire."
The word for "prince" in High Valyrian — the language which appears on the dagger — is gender-neutral, so it could refer to a man or a woman. Could Arya, who slays the legendary Night King at the end of "Game of Thrones," be this foretold prince? Hard to say as the dagger suggests the prince will be a descendent of Aegon the Conqueror; which Arya isn't… but Jon is.
