Henry Cavill Was

7 Seasons.
What Went Wrong?

Saturday, October 29 was a massive news day for fans of Netflix's "The Witcher" as it was announced that the show had been renewed for Season 4 and that Henry Cavill would be replaced by Liam Hemsworth. Most fans were pretty shaken by Cavill’s exit (with some threatening to boycott the series altogether) and the first question that seemed to cross everyone’s mind was “why?”
The reason behind his departure is easy to discern if you look at his current lineup of impending projects, not the least of which, is his commitment to Superman and DCEU. Cavill may have simply reached an impasse wherein he was forced to choose between Geralt and Superman.
Cavill, who has been deeply involved in the production of "The Witcher" up to this point, shared his support of passing the baton to Hemsworth in an Instagram post the same day Netflix made its announcement. It must have not been easy for Cavill to leave the role of the White Wolf, and it may be a while before the actor fully opens up about his decision.
