Guns 3: Alias
Billy The Kid:
What We
Know So Far
By JONAH SCHUHART
The "Young Guns" film series started in 1988 and starred Emilio Estevez as Billy the Kid, and the franchise seems poised to add another installment with "Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid." Here is what’s known about the film's release date, cast, and plot.
There have been no official announcements regarding the release date of "Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid." Developments on "Guns 3" are being kept under wraps, and it’s still difficult to estimate when this late-blooming third entry will hit theaters.
Estevez, Christian Slater, and Lou Diamond Phillips are returning to reprise their roles. It will be interesting to see how they return to the saddle, as it has been more than 30 years since "Young Guns 2," which means the stars are, quite obviously, not the young men they once were.
The film's working subtitle, "Alias Billy the Kid," is lifted from one of the biographies on Brushy Bill Roberts, who claimed to be Billy the Kid after most people thought he was dead. The subtitle of "Guns 3" implies the franchise will take another look at the claims Roberts made about his past life in "Young Guns 2."
