“House of the Dragon” is the prequel to “Game of Thrones” and takes place 300 years before the events depicted in the original series. Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel “Fire & Blood,” the show will revolve around the Targaryen clan; however, the prequel saga will be reminiscent of its parent series in some ways, as explained by Martin in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.
Martin revealed that there’s one scene in “House of the Dragon” that will give fans similar heart-wrenching emotions as The Red Wedding scene in “Game of Thrones.” The Red Wedding scene will go down in television history as one of the most shocking and unpredictable moments, where several main characters were slaughtered in gruesome ways.
In the interview, Martin said the “House of the Dragon” scene involves the birth of Prince Baelon and explained, “It's visceral and it'll rip your heart out and throw it on the floor. It has the kind of impact that the Red Wedding had. It's a beautifully done scene of something horrible." It’s safe to say that “House of the Dragon” will have just as much gore as “Game of Thrones.”
