Release Date
In December 2022, HBO Max announced that Season 2 of “Winning Time” would be released in 2023, but an exact date was not given.
Plot
According to co-creator Max Borenstein, Season 2 of “Winning Time” will likely pick up soon after the 1979-1980 season, covered in Season 1, and depict a similar amount of time.
It will likely delve deeper into the personal lives of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson, whose 1991 HIV diagnosis was used as a framing device in the series' first episode.
The cast
Quincy Isaiah, Solomon Hughes, Adrien Brody, and Jason Clarke are all likely to return because Kareem Abdul-Jaabar, Magic Johnson, and Pat Riley are integral to the plot.
John C.Reilly is also guaranteed to return as flashy Lakers owner Jerry Buss, as he is already contracted to return for another season.
Showrunner
Max Borenstein created “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,” and will keep his position as executive producer and showrunner for Season 2.
Streaming Service
You can catch up on Season 1 of “Winning Time” and watch Season 2 (when it finally drops) exclusively on HBO Max.
