In Eddie Munson’s (Joseph Quinn) final moments he chooses to distract the DemoBats by playing Metallica's "Master of Puppets" on his guitar. In addition to mourning the loss of a beloved character “Stranger Things,” fans are also wondering if it was actually Quinn masterfully playing the guitar solo.
In a recent interview, "Stranger Things 4" actor Quinn confirmed that it is indeed him shredding away on the axe. The actor added that he has a background in music and has played the guitar since he was young, which made it a little bit easier for him to step into Eddie's shoes and play along.
The actor’s playing was impressive enough to draw accolades from the band itself. A post published on Metallica's official Instagram reads in part, "It's so extremely well done, so much so that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn's hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?"
