Drop A Subtle
Thunderbolts Hint?

Like most MCU films, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is packed with Easter eggs that reference the wider Marvel universe. Some eagle-eyed superfans have already spotted one that hints toward a major character involved with the Thunderbolts, a team of supervillains from the comics led by Baron Zemo.
Early in the movie, Doctor Strange visits Wanda Maximoff as she is trimming trees in an illusory apple orchard. As she stores cut branches in a series of crates, the camera seems to intentionally linger on an upside-down crate that is marked by a stamp saying “Volkers.”
“Volkers” is most likely a reference to Wendell Volker, a history grad student who attempts to bring Baron Zemo to justice in the four-issue comic series “Thunderbolts Presents: Baron Zemo — Born Better.” While Volker has yet to appear in the MCU, the Easter egg shot of the “Volkers” crate seems to imply that he may be lurking around somewhere.
