Deadpool 3: Did New Behind-The-Scenes Set Image Confirm A Huge MCU Fan Theory?
By RUSSELL MURRAY
There is major excitement surrounding the confirmation of Wolverine’s yellow suit, but an eerie photo leaked from the set of “Deadpool 3” reveals what might be a huge meta moment.
The Walt Disney company’s acquisition of the studio’s Marvel characters allows figures from “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Deadpool 3” could indicate using the real-life studio acquisition to adapt a Marvel Comics storyline that many thought was too risky: “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe.”
The comic is about the assassin killing the superpeople he wouldn’t normally be able to touch. His villainy is waved away, but it covers the most disturbing kills yet.
Reynold’s Deadpool probably won’t be killing the MCU any time soon, but he may go out to destroy characters from Fox’s Marvel Universe like Elektra, played by Jennifer Garner.
There's also been wild speculation that Owen Wilson's and Tara Strong's “Loki” characters, Mobius M. Mobius and Miss Minutes, respectively, will play a major part in the film.
The film could be confronting how these stories are rebooted and erased often, but we hope it’s a fitting goodbye to the integral studio that brought these heroes to us.
