Cobra Kai's Macchio Still Has Harsh Words For This Karate Kid Film

By TIM LAMMERS

Throughout the run of “Cobra Kai,” loose ends of stories from all three "Karate Kid" films have emerged. Season 4 features the return of one character, but Ralph Macchio doesn't have much love for the film that introduced him.

1989’s "The Karate Kid: Part III" introduced Terry Silver, a toxic waste disposal magnate who is brought into the fold to manipulate a vulnerable Daniel. Although Silver was introduced in this film Macchio would go on to say that it felt like “the story was only repeating itself.”

Silver initially had a manic presence at times, and now brings a calmer demeanor to "Cobra Kai" adding another element to enhance the overall story of the series. Macchio says that “the shortcomings of the original franchise are now bearing fruit.”
