Chris Pratt was still very much unproven as a Hollywood leading man when he got the gig as Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” However, Pratt’s performance made him a household name, and many fans want him to remain part of the MCU for years to come, but that might not be the case after "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
As “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is scheduled for release in 2023, pundits and fans have asked for immediate reassurances about Star-Lord’s future in the MCU. Pratt isn’t giving away much information, but when asked by Extra if Marvel wanted Star-Lord to return, Pratt said, “I don’t know. I hope so.”
During the interview, he noted that it's theoretically possible for him to return as different iterations of Star-Lord as the franchise moves forward. "I think anything is possible. There's [the] Multiverse thing. I'm not saying I am, but if a character gets killed [...] Actually, turns out there are, like, crazy wormholes to bring people back."
