Batgirl's Leslie Grace Confirms Suspicions About Brendan Fraser's Demeanor

Fans were excited to hear that Brendan Fraser would be joining the cast of HBO Max’s “Batgirl” film as the main villain, Firefly. While Fraser has had experience in action films like “The Mummy” and superhero shows like “Doom Control,” playing the destructive Firefly is a departure both in terms of his previous characters and his true demeanor.
According to Leslie Grace, who plays “Batgirl’s” Barbara Gordon, she had a difficult time seeing Fraser as her on-screen enemy as “he’s such a huge teddy bear” and “one of the nicest people [she has] ever met.” She also noted in this Variety interview that his action expertise is fully on display in the movie in his “fight choreography and stunts.”
Along with Fraser and Grace, the cast includes J.K. Simmons, who will be reprising his "Justice League" role as Police Commissioner Jim Gordon. Michael Keaton, who played Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton’s “Batman” films, will also be playing the caped crusader again in “Batgirl.”
