Andrew Garfield Played Hard To Get For Spider-Man: No Way Home

By KIERAN FISHER

For some months, fans feared that Andrew Garfield wouldn’t join his fellow Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland, in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” While it turned out that he was fooling everyone, it did take some time for the actor to agree to reprise his role.

In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Garfield revealed that he played hardball with the superstar producers, Kevin Feidge and Amy Pascal. Before giving his final answer, he had told them, “I’ll think about it for a couple of months…I’ll keep you guys dangling!”

As the only live-action Spider-Man of the 21st century to not have his own trilogy of films, Garfield’s Spidey certainly had some unfinished business to deal with. In the end, the actor felt that his character needed to find closure after the death of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).
