John Crye

By the time he graduated Emerson College in 1993, John was already half of the popular Boston-based vaudevillian comedy team Daily Cry with collaborator Bill Daly. The team moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and took up a weekend residency at Santa Monica's Upfront Comedy Theater while John began working at a new independent film company, Newmarket, where he led the development, acquisition, production, or distribution of such independent classics as "Memento," "Donnie Darko," "Whale Rider," "Monster," "Downfall," and "The Prestige." During this time, he was also moonlighting as a founding member of the filmmakers' collective FEWDIO. Since 2012, Crye has been writing, directing and producing under his own shingle, SharpCrye, with creative partner Todd Sharp.
