The Flash Casts Kendrick Sampson As Brainstorm
A new villain is coming to The Flash.
Per Deadline, actor Kendrick Sampson has been cast as Dominic Lanse, better known as Brainstorm, on the hit CW series. Sampson's involvement in the show is for a multi-episode arc beginning later this season. His character will make his debut in The Flash's winter finale.
In the DC comic book lore, Brainstorm is a major enemy of the Justice League, first appearing in the December 1964 issue Justice League of America #32. Writer Gardner Fox and artist Mike Sekowsky created the original Brainstorm, whose everyday alter ego is named Axel Storm, with an updated version of the character arriving with The New 52. Dominic Lanse, who bears no relation to Axel Storm, works as a TSA Agent and unexpectedly gains meta-human powers, able to read people's thoughts at any given time.
Most will recognize Sampson from his recurring role as Caleb Hapstall on the Viola Davis-led series How to Get Away with Murder. The actor has also appeared in Gracepoint, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries, and can currently be seen on White Famous.
Executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Todd Helbing, and Sarah Schechter, The Flash is currently in its fourth season, which premiered in early October. Grant Gustin toplines as Barry Allen/the Flash, joined by Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Dr. Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash, and Neil Sandilands as Clifford Devoe/Thinker.
The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
