Family Guy Fans All Agree That This Is The Biggest Scumbag On The Show

Shows tend to go one of two ways in the world of adult animation: fizzle out before really getting started or live on well past the expiration date. "Family Guy" falls into the latter category, having stuck around the airwaves for a whopping 20 seasons following its debut in 1999. Most would agree that the show's best days are behind it and are fading further and further into the past, but that doesn't make Seth MacFarlane's tenured brainchild any less iconic. It's left an indelible mark on pop culture over the years, especially thanks to its now-famous roster of characters.

The focus of "Family Guy" has always gone to the Griffin family, whose members comprise the main cast of the show. However, they're not the only ones that command the spotlight, seeing as a host of wacky, attention-grabbing characters that also call Quahog, Rhode Island home surround them. Joe Swanson (Patrick Warburton), Cleveland Brown (Arif Zahir), and several more have joined them in their exploits, becoming fan favorites in the process. Still, just because you're at the forefront of the show doesn't mean you'll automatically leave a positive impression on viewers.

When it comes to the massive "Family Guy" cast, some folks haven't built up the greatest reputations for themselves. In fact, fans would consider this mainstay the scummiest character on the program.

Family Guy fans think Brian Griffin is a total scumbag

Reddit user u/medialover00 ran a poll asking the "Family Guy" community to decide which character they believe is the biggest scumbag of them all. Roughly 7,200 people cast their vote, and the result was astounding. Stewie Griffin (MacFarlane) earned 172, Lois Griffin (Alex Borstein) had 253, Mort Goldman secured 557 (John G. Brennan), and Peter Griffin nabbed 952 (MacFarlane). We then see a huge jump from Glenn Quagmire (MacFarlane) and Brian Griffin (MacFarlane), who walked away with around 2,400 and 2,900, respectively. Thus, according to the people, the Griffin family dog is the scummiest "Family Guy" character.

Throughout his "Family Guy" tenure, Brian has done and said genuinely awful things to those close and unfamiliar to him — oftentimes for his own benefit. Evidently, this has caused many fans of the show to dislike him, which is interesting considering the strong response to his unexpected death in Season 12's "Life of Brian." Not long after the episode aired and television viewers witnessed him die after being struck by a car, folks around the world called for the powers that be to bring him back. It eventually happened, but not after nearly 130,000 strong petitioned on Change.org to see the iconic animated dog resurrected.

Brian Griffin isn't the most moral or selfless person and is considered by many to be quite the scumbag, but it's clear that he has his fans all the same. No matter how you look at it, "Family Guy" wouldn't be the same without him.
