Gabrielle Union's Bad Boys Spinoff Lands At NBC

If the Bad Boys spinoff makes it to TV, it'll be on NBC.

Deadline reports that the network will make a pilot for the potential series starring Gabrielle Union as her character from 2003's Bad Boys II.

Written by The Blacklist writers-producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, the show will center on Special Agent Syd Burnett (Union) who moves from Miami, where she took down a drug cartel, to Los Angeles. Now an LAPD detective, she wants to leave her past behind. But things get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna, learns that Burnett may be hiding a dark secret.

In the Bad Boys movies, Burnett is the sister of Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and was romantically linked with Marcus' partner, Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey (Will Smith).

Union currently stars on the BET series Being Mary Jane, but that show will end next year with a two-hour series finale.
