Becoming Noble - Everything We Know So Far
Storm Reid may be young, but she's already made some major moves in the entertainment industry. After breaking out in "12 Years a Slave," she soon scooped up a plethora of roles, including a lead performance in Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time." Since then, she's gone on to appear in the likes of "Don't Let Go," "The Invisible Man," and "The Suicide Squad," to name a few. And that's not even getting into arguably one of her deepest, most emotionally-raw roles to date in HBO's "Euphoria." In that show, she plays the younger sister of Zendaya's Rue, constantly picking up the pieces from her sister's addiction.
Reid stays plenty busy these days. As reported by Teen Vogue in 2021, the actress is currently attending the University of Southern California, but she's not letting her classes get in the way of acting. She has another project lined up, and audiences will soon see her as the lead in the upcoming "Becoming Noble." Here's everything we know about the movie so far.
Storm Reid will get regal in Becoming Noble
In addition to starring in the film, Reid will also produce the picture alongside her mother, Robyn Simpson, and Cas Sigers Beedles. The three of them released a joint statement announcing the movie: "This has truly been a passion project and we are so excited to bring this story to life. 'Becoming Noble' started out as just an idea that we continued to build on together and we now look forward to working with the team at Paramount to hit the ground running" (via Variety).
The story will see Reid as a high school senior who discovers she's actually a princess of an African nation. She'll have to travel to her home country to connect with her roots and figure out if she genuinely wants to be a "royal." Nneka Gerstle is set to write the script, while Betsy Sullenger and Andy Fickman have entered the picture as executive producers.
The production is set up at A Seed & Wings, which is a multimedia production house Reid founded with her mother. Stay tuned for more details on this project as they become available.
