The Obi-Wan Kenobi Part VI Scene That Fans Can't Stop Joking About

After 10 years of hanging out by himself in the desert, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) finally gets a call to adventure, and while he's apprehensive about taking it initially, he ultimately realizes it's for the best. What happens is shown in the six-episode season of "Obi-Wan Kenobi," where the titular Jedi Master is tasked with rescuing Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from evil hands. That puts him squarely on a collision course with his old Padawan, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), now known as Darth Vader.
It's a fairly perilous journey filled with Obi-Wan losing people he cares about and fighting Stormtroopers and Inquisitors. There aren't a ton of opportunities for someone to crack a joke, but that doesn't mean something can't be unintentionally hilarious. And in Part 6 of "Obi-Wan Kenobi," fans have found such a moment where they can't help but wonder what Darth Vader is really thinking.
Vader now has the high ground
There's a climactic battle between Obi-Wan and Vader where the two engage in fisticuffs once again. Only this time, Obi-Wan is far more empowered with the Force and can actually hold his own against his former apprentice. However, things look dire at one point when Vader causes the ground beneath Obi-Wan to shatter, sending him into a sinkhole. What happens next parallels their fight on Mustafar in "Revenge of the Sith," only this time, Vader is the one with the high ground while Obi-Wan is underneath him.
A lot of viewers found the moment amusing, including u/Top_Nefariousness_63, who wrote, "Vader really got the high ground and didn't know what to do with it lol." Redditor u/LokiTheeTricksterGod thought it was funny to think about what Vader was likely thinking to himself at that moment, coming up with, "Oh god I didn't think I'd get this far try to say something cool." Everyone else got in on the fun by thinking of cool (or sometimes uncool) things Vader could say to call back to their time on Mustafar, but suffice to say, all of them would've alleviated the tension from the sequence.
The "high ground" has been a beloved meme and joke in the "Star Wars" community for years now, and whether it was intentional or not, it seems to have reminded fans of the bit. It seems Anakin learned a thing or two from his old master after all.
