Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You! Trailer Revealed

Everyone is getting in on the trend of rebooted origin stories, even Pikachu.

The first official trailer for Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! is now in the world, but you won't need to search very far to find it. It's right there above.

The movie reimagines the Indigo League saga of the original series from a slightly different angle and with some impressively cinematic upgrades. Like the show, the movie is set in a world inhabited by mysterious powerful creatures called Pocket Monsters (or Pokémon) in which humans befriend them and fight alongside them in tournaments. But when 10-year-old trainer Ash Ketchum is late picking up his first Pokémon from the local professor, he ends up with the unruly but adorable Pikachu.

On the first day of their journey together, they see the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh fly overhead, and they pick up one of its feathers. They vow to find the Ho-Oh again and travel the Kanto region in search of it. They'll meet up with two new human companions, Sorrel and Verity, as Ash tries to finally become a Pokémon Master. The movie will also introduce more Pokémon that weren't in the earliest seasons of the show.

Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! will hit select theaters on Nov. 5.
