Can You Play Apex Legends Mobile With A Controller?
EA has been making some big moves with "Apex Legends" lately. In addition to all the content that was added in "Season 13: Saviors" back in April, the publisher has also just released a mobile version of the game on iOS and Android for those who want to be able to participate in the free-to-play battle-royale using their smart devices. This opens up the game to a whole new field of players, but it also raises a lot of questions about how this new mobile version is going to work.
"Apex Legends" has always been one of those games where precision and timing are everything. That's one of the reasons it's still worth playing years after its initial release. Whether it's skydiving to the same drop point or rounding a corner while looking for supplies and finding themselves face-to-face with an enemy team, players need to be able to pull off accurate, split-second reactions if they want any hope of surviving to the final ring. It's important that they have the best peripherals possible for interfacing with the game, so there's one question dedicated gamers have to ask if they want to be the best of the best in "Apex Legends" — does it work with a controller?
Controller support has just been added
Controller support was not available at launch, but luckily, it is listed as one of the new features that have just been added on the "Apex Legends Mobile" pages in the Google Play and Apple App stores. That means players can now sync up their favorite console controller over Bluetooth and start playing "Apex" with all the comfort and advantages offered by an ergonomic gaming peripheral with a nice set of joysticks.
According to Gaming Intel, the current list of compatible controllers includes the Xbox Series X/S official controller, Xbox One official controller, PlayStation DualSense, PlayStation DualShock 4, and the Razer Kishi. Gaming Intel goes on to provide instructions for syncing the different controllers, noting that Xbox controllers require the user to hold the small Pair Button on top of the controller for three seconds in order to put it in pairing mode while the PlayStation controllers require the user to hold both the PlayStation button and the Share/Create button until the sensor starts flashing. At this point, the user should be able to go into their device's Bluetooth settings and pair the controller. After that, all that's left to do is skydive into "Apex" and try to survive.
