For The Walking Dead Fans, One Group Of Rick's Survivors Stands Above The Rest

AMC is no stranger to hit TV shows, having delivered such classics as "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" over the years. Although, none have stuck around nearly as long as "The Walking Dead." Debuting in October of 2010, the post-apocalyptic drama has become a small screen staple, viewer favorite, and the starting point of an extended franchise. As it rapidly approaches the end of its 11th and final season in 2022, now is as good a time as any for fans to look back on their fond memories with it — even those who gave up on "TWD" along the way for one reason or another.

To many, the high points of "The Walking Dead" coincided with the presence of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln): a former police officer who served as the main protagonist of the program for the first nine seasons. Not only did the show feel fresh and exciting during most of his run, but it also included the introductions of numerous now-iconic characters, especially in the good guy camp. For instance, the likes of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Michonne Hawthorne (Danai Gurira), and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) made names for themselves as a part of Rick's ever-changing survivor team.

The composition of Rick's group changed many times on "The Walking Dead," though many fans would agree that this incarnation stands out as the best of them all.

Fans still adore the Season 5-6 group

In the eyes of Reddit user eezy1, the version of Rick Grimes' group from around Season 5 to Season 6 is the best of every lineup out there. They include a photo of the crew too, which included Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Glenn and Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan), Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), Noah (Tyler James Williams), Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Sasha Williams (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson).

Throughout the thread, numerous "Walking Dead" fans couldn't help but agree, with a few voicing their opinion that the group that made camp at the West Georgia Correctional Facility takes the cake in this conversation. Sadly, to settle this debate once and for all, fans can't look to the man behind Rick Grimes, Andrew Lincoln, for his two cents. As he revealed in a 2017 interview with TV Line, he doesn't even watch "The Walking Dead." "I don't watch the show at all. I am allergic to my own face," Lincoln jokingly revealed ahead of Season 8's arrival.

Even though we may never know which version of Rick's survivor team was Andrew Lincoln's favorite, that doesn't mean that fan discussions about the topic won't continue to unfold. Don't be surprised if the Season 5 and 6 roster continues to lead the charge.
