Benedict Cumberbatch Tries To Find His Missing Daughter In The Child In Time Trailer
Benedict Cumberbatch is searching for his missing daughter in the first trailer for The Child in Time. The movie stars Cumberbatch and Kelly Macdonald as a couple who must deal with the sudden disappearance of their daughter Kate (Beatrice White).
Cumberbatch's Stephen Lewis is a successful children's book author, and as the trailer shows, he and his daughter seem to have a very happy life together, despite the fact that he is estranged from his wife Julie (Macdonald). This break will become even worse when Kate disappears at the grocery store.
Neither Julie nor Stephen take the news that Kate is missing well, and as we quickly realize, he still sees her, despite the fact that she isn't there. "If it's any consolation, I see her too," Julie tells him. "I think she might have to be the one to find us. We can't give up hope."
The Child in Time is based on the 1987 novel of the same name by Ian McEwan. The movie, which also stars Stephen Campbell Moore and Saskia Reeves, will be directed by four-time Emmy nominee Julian Farino, best known for his time helming Entourage episodes, based on a script from The Last Kingdom's Stephen Butchard.
The film is set to hit Masterpiece on PBS in 2018. While we wait, see some actors who almost took Cumberbatch's role of Doctor Strange.
