The Worst American Pickers Season 3 Episode According To IMDb
"American Pickers" has become prime programming on History, and it's easy to see why. The reality series follows a couple of pickers as they traverse the country looking for valuables. They'll hunt high and low in people's garages, sheds, and backyards to see what kind of Americana they have hidden. On the surface, a lot of it may look like junk, but Mike Wolfe knows better. He can spot a diamond in the rough and knows when he's found something golden among all of the rust and debris.
Some of the best "American Pickers" episodes involve the crew finding something of immense value, like an antique automobile Wolfe wants to restore. Even if they don't always make a deal, sometimes simply learning about the history of these items is enough to make an episode stand out. But not every installment can be a winner, and in Season 3, there was an episode that had a noticeable dip in quality.
Trading Up was a step down for American Pickers
IMDb allows users to rate episodes of their favorite TV shows. As such, it should come as no surprise to see plenty of people have chimed in with their thoughts on virtually every episode of "American Pickers," going all the way back to its early years. For Season 3, the show had firmly established what it would be about, and fans were either in or out by that point. But sadly, it seems like the show misstepped with Season 3, Episode 6, "Trading Up."
The episode lives up to its title by showing Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz challenging themselves to trade a vintage cup dispenser for something better. They go through the episode consecutively trading up until they acquire a grander prize. Over the course of their adventure, they visit an Indiana man's home filled with over 16,000 pieces as well as the St. Louis Cardinals dugout.
For whatever reason, the episode didn't resonate with fans, who gave it an overall rating of 6.6/10 out of over 20 reviews. However, you can watch the episode for yourself to see what you think of this particular Wolfe/Fritz adventure.
