The Walking Dead Season 11 Part 3 - What We Know So Far

The end is finally nigh for AMC's "The Walking Dead." With a final season split into three parts, it's clear the long-running post-apocalyptic series wants to give its fans the epic good-bye worthy of a show of this size and cultural import. The eleventh and final season began back in 2021, with the first episode of Part 1 debuting in August and the final episode airing in October, per the AMC show's IMDb page. Then, "The Walking Dead" returned with Part 2 in February and ran until early April. Now, all that's left is Part 3, which premiered on October 2.

For longtime viewers, it's bound to be a nerve-wracking wait for the end of the show after the program's hair-raising Part 2 finale that left viewers wondering who will win in the ultimate battle between the forces of the Commonwealth and the members of Rick's former group who oppose their attempt at controlling every single settlement in the immediate area. Will the Milton family be exposed? Will the audience's favorite characters survive to thrive? Here's what we know so far about the final part of "The Walking Dead" Season 11.

Who is starring in The Walking Dead Season 11 Part 3?

The third part of "The Walking Dead" Season 11 will bring back some familiar faces for another bloody, apocalyptic adventure. According to Digital Spy, fans can expect to see more from Norman Reedus as Daryl and Melissa McBride as Carol, in addition to various other franchise stalwarts such as Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam), Magna (Nadia Hilker), Lydia (Cassady McClincy), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Mercer (Michael James Shaw).

On top of that, Josh Hamilton will reprise the role of Lance Hornsby and Lauren Cohan is slated to return as Maggie after she was reintroduced to the hit horror series. It will be interesting to see how much the character has changed since we last saw her. Furthermore, her storylines will probably pave the way for Negan and Maggie's upcoming spin-off series.

What is the plot of The Walking Dead Season 11 Part 3?

Threats will lurk around every corner during the final episodes as each group continues to get caught up in some nasty drama involving the living and the undead. All of this is going to lead toward a day of reckoning for everyone, forcing them to either band together or become divided forever.

One of the major storylines heading into the new episodes pertains to the fate of Oceanside. Lance Hornsby is now in control of the residence after taking over Hilltop and Alexandra. The villain has yet to decide his plans for his latest acquisition, so viewers can expect more answers regarding what's going to happen to the people. With their lives lingering on a coin flip, things could turn violent.

Elsewhere, Aaron, Gabriel, Daryl, and Maggie will have to contend with the Commonwealth and Lance after evading death. However, these are only a couple of the cliffhangers that needed to be addressed, as most characters on the show found themselves in some type of peril last time out.

Where to watch previous seasons of The Walking Dead

"The Walking Dead" is scattered all over the digital realm. According to JustWatch, viewers in the United States can stream the first 10 seasons of the apocalyptic horror series on Netflix, but it'll probably be a while before the 11th installment is added to the platform. Similarly, viewers can binge some episodes on AMC+, which also includes the spin-offs "Fear the Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: World Beyond."

Some seasons of the zombie show can also be found on FuboTV and DirectTV, though both services only have a couple of seasons available to watch as of this writing. Fortunately, no streaming service subscription is required to access "The Walking Dead" as all 11 seasons can be bought on Amazon, iTunes, and Vudu.

Elsewhere, select seasons of the horror saga are available to purchase on services such as Redbox, Microsoft, and Google Pay.

Is there a trailer for The Walking Dead Season 11 Part 3?

A trailer for "The Walking Dead" Season 11 Part 3 was released earlier this year, and the footage is a whirlwind of emotions. With the end in sight, the teaser took an opportunity to sit back and reminisce about how we got here before leading into more recent events.

The trailer features Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) making his way through a hospital after waking up from a coma and recalls Hershel Greene's (the late Scott Wilson) final moments. After that, we see Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) make his debut on the series, back when redemption seemed impossible for the character.

After the trip down memory lane, the trailer brings us up to speed by focusing on the horrors displayed by Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) and his Commonwealth minions. At the same time, the teaser provides respite and moments of hope by highlighting the heroes who are still alive to fight the good fight. But it's going to require one mighty effort on their part to save this post-apocalyptic world.
