Blade Of The Immortal Red Band Trailer Is Bloody Brilliant
If you like your movie violence over-the-top and stylish, we've got just the trailer for you.
Magnolia Pictures released the red band trailer for Blade of the Immortal, the upcoming adaptation of the manga, from legendary director Takashi Miike (13 Assassins, Audition).
The movie revolves around a samurai named Manji (Takuya Kimura), who has restorative powers that keep him basically the same for decades. When a young girl named Rin (Hanna Sugisaki) asks him to help avenge the murder of her father, the pair set off on an epic (and epically gruesome) adventure.
The manga, written by Hiroaki Samura, ran from 1993 to 2012 and was published in the U.S. by Darkhorse comics.
It'll astoundingly be the 100th feature film for Miike, and it premiered in May at Cannes. The Hollywood Reporter said it has "more style to burn than almost any recent Hollywood actioner."
Blade of the Immortal will premiere in North America at Fantastic Fest in Austin and hit theaters on Nov. 3. Until then, check out more movies that will blow everyone away this fall.
