Kingsman: The Golden Circle To Be Released In Panoramic Three-Screen Format
Upcoming spy movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released in the innovative three-screen, 270-degree immersive format called ScreenX, Deadline has reported.
The Kingsman sequel, which stars Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Julianne Moore, and Channing Tatum, will be among the first films in the United States to be screened in the style, which is said to make for a more immersive theatrical experience. Previously, only the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, and the South Korean film The Battleship Island have been screened in the US in this manner.
The format, which is only available in two locations in Los Angeles and one in Las Vegas, is still new technology for North America, even though it has begun to catch on in several Asian countries. Kingsman will be initially shown on ScreenX in 119 locations worldwide, in Korea, China, Thailand, Turkey, and Indonesia in addition to the United States. In addition to the ScreenX option, Kingsman will also be available in the more widely-accepted 4DX format, which uses moving chairs, lights, wind, smells and other environmental effects to augment the viewing experience of a movie.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be out in all formats, including regular old 2D, on September 22. Check out the trailer here, and follow it up with our feature on these comic book movies that almost happened.
