Game Of Thrones Stars Do Hilarious Ned Stark Impressions For Carpool Karaoke
We never thought we'd hear Ned Stark recite Sir Mix-a-Lot lyrics, and yet here we are.
In their upcoming appearance on Carpool Karaoke: The Series, Game of Thrones actresses Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) will show off their vocal skills to give their best impressions of the fallen Lord of Winterfell, Ned Stark.
The on-screen siblings first reminisced about the times they'd read normal sentences, presumably including text messages from friends or passages from books, in Sean Bean's northern English accent, the same his Thrones character sports in the series. When Turner gives a goofy grunt to signal that she remembers such antics, Williams states, in the iconic Ned Stark voice, that she's "prepared a little game."
"I'm gonna give you a sentence, right?" Williams says, trying hard not to laugh through the thick accent and choppy dialect. "And then you've got to say it like you was in Game of Thrones, like you were on top of [the] Wall and you were, like, staring out at all the Wildlings."Turner, clearly delighted by Williams' proposition, plays along perfectly.
What follows is a string of hilarious bits where Turner quotes The Lion King, Williams creates a dream scenario in which Arya returns home to Winterfell and greets Sansa with a Mario line, and the duo sing "Baby Got Back"—all in Ned Stark's distinct voice.
The giggly Game of Thrones stars filmed their episode of the Apple Music series in Austin, Texas during the South by Southwest Film Festival earlier this year. Fans can catch Turner and Williams' appearance on Tuesday, August 29 at 9pm EDT.
Based on the segment that originated on The Late, Late Show with James Corden, Carpool Karaoke: The Series will feature even more celebrity pairings throughout the first season, including the likes of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Will Smith, LeBron James, Gwyneth Paltrow, and more.
