Justice League gets a new trailer at Comic-Con
The newest trailer for Justice League is here, and it is unlike any of the trailers that have come before. The footage, released at San Diego Comic-Con, gives a different kind of look at the film than what we've seen in the past, showing an increased focus on humor, heart, and heroics.
The trailer begins with Gal Gadot's Diana stopping a robbery, something which she describes as "nothing very interesting." It then continues on to talk about what happened after the death of Superman (Henry Cavill), with Commissioner Gordon (J.K. Simmons) turning on the Bat Signal to call for Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), who the news says has been "a no-show."
"They said the age of heroes would never come again," Wonder Woman says to Batman, before the trailer moves into her homeland of Themyscira, which is apparently the site of the introduction of Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds). The trailer then gives us a brief look at Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) underwater world before it begins to tease the film's other new heroes, including the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). "This world will fall, like all the others," Steppenwolf says in a voiceover.
As Aquaman notes, all of the heroes have a pretty good chance at dying, but they won't go down without a fight. "Don't engage alone," Wonder Woman says. "We do this together." The trailer then moves into a long and epic montage, teasing what is sure to be an epic face-off, before ending with Alfred (Jeremy Irons) meeting up with a mysterious figure who he hopes is not too late.
Justice League's supporting cast includes Kiersey Clemons' Iris West, Billy Crudup's Henry Allen, Amy Adams' Lois Lane, Diane Lane's Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen's Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright's General Antiope, Amber Heard's Mera, and more. Joss Whedon is currently finishing up work on the film, taking over for Zack Snyder, who had to step down due to a family tragedy. The movie is due out on Nov. 17; while we wait, see why the finished product will actually be better than you think.
