Ben Affleck Responds To Rumors That He's Leaving The Batman

Ben Affleck has no time for reports that he wants to leave the role of Batman. The actor responded to recent rumors that he's leaving the part ahead of the Matt Reeves-directed The Batman at San Diego Comic-Con, firmly denying the idea that he would leave the role.

Rumors that Affleck wants out of the Batman role have been persistent in recent months, and they were further fueled when the actor stepped out of the director's chair earlier this year. When Affleck's name was left out of the release announcing Reeves as director, many took it as a sign that he had left the project; however, Affleck later confirmed that he was still set to star.

Warner Bros. has been adamant in saying that Affleck is still their Batman, but that hasn't stopped reports from saying that the studio is looking for a graceful way to transition him out of the part before Reeves starts off with a planned trilogy. Affleck gave a clear denial to those rumors, though, saying, "Let me be very clear. I am the luckiest guy in the world. Batman is the coolest f***ing part in any universe." (via Marcus Errico/Twitter

Affleck later elaborated, saying that, with Reeves involvement, it would be crazy for him to quit the film. "With Matt Reeves doing it, I would be a f***ing ape on the ground for Matt Reeves," he said. The actor also clarified that his stepping down from the director's chair didn't mean that he wasn't enthusiastic about the film, saying that it is "f***ing amazing." (via Jo Blo/Twitter)

With Affleck's comments, it seems although he really is sticking around the Batman role after all. However, his involvement has been put into question so many times that it's also still possible there could be a turnaround and he could leave the part after all.
