New Game Of Thrones Trailer Teases Daenerys And Jon's First Meeting

Warning: This post contains spoilers for seasons one through seven of HBO's Game of Thrones.

"I was born to rule the Seven Kingdoms, and I will."

After six seasons, and the majority of a seventh season premiere, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has finally touched down in Westeros, settling down in her homeland of Dragonstone. Now that she's officially back in the Seven Kingdoms' fold, she has her sights on the kind of domination that will see her cross paths with some of our Westerosi favorites.

And that's exactly what's just been teased at Comic-Con.

During the excitement-filled event, HBO unveiled a new Game of Thrones trailer that teases Dany's meeting with Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who was recently revealed to be the secret son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, thus making him the nephew of the icy-haired Targaryen.

The final scene of the clip shows the Mother of Dragons teaming up with the Red Woman (Carice van Houten) in Dragonstone's glorious great hall for a conversation that takes a thrilling turn. "I believe you have a role to play... as does another," Melisandre says.

This comment bears significant weight in the overall mythos of Game of Thrones. The show is based off author George R.R. Martin's novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, and fans have long speculated that the meaning of that name involves Jon Snow (representing the ice) and Daenerys Targaryen (representing the fire, what with her three dragons and all). When the two come together, making good use of the ice and fire of their family names, they create a beautiful song in the face of the impending war. At least that's how the theory goes.

Melisandre's moment in the new trailer certainly speaks to that speculation, and teases that Dany and Jon will soon meet, for their survival in the great battle ahead depends on it.

Take a look at the clip above, and try not to freak out when you hear Jon say Daenerys' name.

Game of Thrones is currently in its seventh season. While we wait to see what happens in future episodes, catch up on what you missed in the premiere
