Did John Cena Actually Play The Piano In Peacemaker Episode 6?

The following article contains spoilers for "Peacemaker" Episode 6.

After watching "The Suicide Squad," audiences must've thought they knew John Cena's Peacemaker pretty well. He seemed like your average scumbag villain, locked up in Belle Reve, and he only grows more despicable as the film goes on. The plot ultimately leads to Peacemaker having a confrontation with Colonel Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), killing him in the process. To many viewers, that was the moment that sealed Peacemaker as entirely unforgivable, but then things took a turn when the HBO Max series, "Peacemaker," debuted.

He was still kind of a jerk in the new series, but like an onion, there are layers. He's a deeply broken man with an abusive father who genuinely believes he's a good guy despite killing anyone who even remotely breaks the law. He's surprisingly in touch with his emotions, given how we eventually see him cry over killing Flag. That's not the only surprise we've gotten out of Peacemaker so far in the series. As evidenced in Episode 6, he's a skilled piano player, but the real question is whether that's actually John Cena tickling the ivories on the show.

There's no confirmation that's John Cena playing, but it's possible

Given Peacemaker's penchant for '80s hair metal, it should come as no surprise that when he finally gets his hands on a piano, he busts out "Home Sweet Home" by Mötley Crüe. It's a tender moment in an episode that also involves a shootout with the cops and a horde of butterflies taking over an entire police station. And while it certainly looks like it's really John Cena playing, there's no way to know one way or the other. So until we get an interview confirmation, it's presently unknown.

However, that doesn't mean we can't make an educated guess. After all, we do know for a fact that Cena is a piano player, as evidenced by a YouTube video from the Bella Twins when they got the wrestler-turned-actor to play the instrument for them to commemorate the pair receiving 900,000 subscribers. In the video, Cena plays "Where Is My Mind?" by The Pixies.

Fans were impressed with Cena's skills on the keys, as they chimed in on the comment section with praise like, "Seriously.. Is there anything that John Cena can't do??" With that in mind, it definitely seems plausible that Cena learned the Crüe tune for "Peacemaker."
