Two New Harry Potter-Themed Books Coming This Fall

We'll get a deeper look inside the world of Harry Potter later this year.

Business Insider reports publisher Bloomsbury has announced that two new Harry Potter books will be released this fall to mark the 20th anniversary of the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. However, the books won't follow the adventures of Harry and the gang, but will instead take a deeper look at his wizarding world. Sadly, author J.K. Rowling didn't write either of them.

The coffee table book Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of Exhibition will survey the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and it'll feature Rowling's original drafts of Potter books. The other new book, Harry Potter, A Journey Through a History of Magic, is aimed at a family audience and will take readers on a historical journey through Potter's world and delve into the stories behind spells, magical creatures, witches, and wizards.

Both books will be out in the U.K. on October 20, but there's no word about when they could be released stateside.

Meanwhile, take a look at some false facts about Harry Potter you always thought were true, and things about the series you only notice as an adult.
