The Criminal Minds Golden Age Season That Fans Agree Was The Worst

After 15 years and 15 seasons, "Criminal Minds" coming to an end is definitely a reason to be sad. But with 324 episodes (via IMDB), the series can still be binge-watched over a few rainy days, and as far as crime dramas go, "Criminal Minds" is top-tier binge-worthy.

The show's early days act as an introduction for the Behavioral Analysis Unit and the original agents within it. Early character arcs and intense storylines allow the viewers to get to know team members like Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Jennifer "JJ" Jareau (A.J. Cook), who were both with the BAU from the first season. Seasons 1 through 5 of the series have been called the Golden Age of "Criminal Minds" amongst fans due to the memorable character moments and cases that the original members of the BAU solved together.

As with any series that spans 15 years, there are seasons in "Criminal Minds" that aren't as popular among diehard fans — even during its so-called Golden Age.

There's a clear winner in a fan poll, but many disagree

Fans recently debated on what the worst season of the "Criminal Minds" Golden Age was, thanks to a poll on Reddit by u/LordCoke-16 that invited fans of the show to vote which season from this era they feel is the "weakest." A whopping 44 out of 154 votes went to Season 1 as the weakest. While this may seem like a large amount, there are still those that disagree, and Season 5 came in a close second with 33 votes.

While the poll gave a clear winner through voting, those fans didn't shed light on why they voted for Season 1 in the comments. Those that did comment aren't on board with the results. "I'll just assume those who voted season 1 didn't [watch] season 1" was all that Reddit user u/vemisfire had to say on the matter, with the original poster replying "Facts." Calling the pilot season of a show the weakest one might be harsh, but another user points out a couple of comments down that Season 5 shouldn't have received so many votes either. "whoever said season 5.... y'all good ???" u/VanDyneHope said.

So even with 154 total votes, there is still some speculation surrounding which Golden Age season of "Criminal Minds" is the worst. However, with a show so popular, even the weakest seasons and plot lines are still worth watching.
