The Witcher's Anya Chalotra Confirms What We All Suspected About Henry Cavill's On-Set Behavior

As Geralt of Rivia, the magically super-charged hero of the hit Netflix series "The Witcher," Henry Cavill suits up for a part not all that dissimilar to his role as Clark Kent's alter ego in "Man of Steel" and various other films featuring the caped son of Krypton. Much like Superman and the otherworldly villains he tangles with, Cavill's Geralt is a seemingly invincible force of nature as he battles sinister minions of every shape and species amid the far-flung kingdoms and wastelands of the Continent where the "The Witcher" takes place.

In the company of the supernaturally gifted mage Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and the Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allen), Geralt plies his trade as a solo monster hunter in a war-torn realm where political and religious intrigue often proves far more dangerous than the formidable creatures he confronts. And while Cavill is best known for portraying upright and honorable heroes, how do those attributes match up with how Cavill acts in real life? Well, according to Anya Chalotra, very closely.

Cavill was the consummate professional on The Witcher set

In an interview with RecentlyHeard.com detailing her work on "The Witcher," Anya Chalotra discussed her path from acting on the stage in theatrical productions to her on-screen portrayal of the powerful mage Yennefer. Asked what it was like acting opposite Henry Cavill and how the experience influenced her as a young and growing artist, Chalora responded, "It's been such a learning curve for me to work alongside Henry."

When it came to addressing her co-star's attitude and conduct on the set of "The Witcher," Chalotra revealed that Henry Cavill is "...incredibly professional, polite, brilliant, very experienced, clearly in the world of acting and being on sets that big, very experienced being a leader of a team with such grace." She went on to say Cavill's professionalism also benefited their close relationship as characters in the series, saying, "It's a real privilege to play alongside him, especially with the relationship Yennefer and Geralt have, which is so animalistic and raw and sexy... he was just so empathetic, and his experience just helped in every conversation that we had." Summing up her clearly positive feelings about Cavill's on-set behavior, Chalotra said simply, "He cares about you; he cares about the show."
