Jar Jar Binks Wants To Be The Star Of The Han Solo Movie
Now that Ron Howard has taken over the Han Solo prequel, one character from the past thinks it's time to shake things up, albeit in a self-serving way.
In a hilarious new video from Funny or Die, the eternally embattled Jar Jar Binks (with his identity concealed) makes a plea for Howard to cast the out-of-work Gungan in the upcoming flick. And he doesn't just want a supporting role. "Maybe it's a Jar Jar movie now," he said. "Meesa don't think he's been called yet, but he's available. That's for sure."
Jar Jar first appeared in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and he was almost universally hated. A bumbling CGI character created by George Lucas, he only appeared in 19 minutes of the 1999 movie, but his presence cast a huge shadow over the franchise. He returned for an even smaller role in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, then had a one-line cameo in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
He fell off the map in Hollywood after that, but he's apparently "in great physical shape right now."
Check out the video above, then find out how a Star Wars novel finally revealed Jar Jar's fate.
