The Best Time Marisa Ramirez Broke Character On Blue Bloods

When most people think of "Blue Bloods," their first thoughts turn to the Reagan family. They're a group of Irish Catholics, most of whom have dedicated their careers to keeping the streets of New York safe. When they aren't out in public busting heads and taking names, they support one another, as best exemplified by their weekly family dinners every Sunday night where they all take some time to stop worrying about the force and instead focus on physical and spiritual nourishment.

However, family isn't always necessarily who you share a blood connection with. Sometimes you meet someone in your line of work who becomes just as close as a sibling, and that's the case with fellow officer Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez). She's been on the series since Season 3 and has been a main addition to the cast since Season 4. She's just as capable as any of the Reagans, and on more than one occasion, she's been the one to save the day.

She may look all business, but it's clear actress Ramirez knows when to cut loose and have a good time. The show's come out with various blooper reels over the years, and there's one example of just how goofy Ramirez can get.

Marisa Ramirez trips over her tongue

Maria Baez spends a good chunk of her time on "Blue Bloods" with Danny Reagan. As such, it should come as no surprise to see that the bulk of her bloopers come from the various interactions she has with her partner. The only thing is that it's usually Danny's actor, Donnie Wahlberg, who's causing the failed takes. Normally, Wahlberg will mess up a line, and Ramirez plays along, causing ample hilarity. But she isn't immune to flubbing a line herself.

The best example of this comes in the blooper reel for Season 6. The scene comes with the duo doing one of their patented hallway walks. Baez discusses a carjacking with her partner, but she just can't seem to get the words out. She states, "The car got jacked in a spot ... stop ... blegh!" It's a humorous moment, especially when you consider how infrequently Ramirez is the one causing the outtakes on the various blooper reels the show has come out with over the years.

Elsewhere on these tapes, you'll find Ramirez dancing and cracking up at Wahlberg's antics. She really comes across as a consummate professional, but maybe there are just other outtakes that haven't made it onto the reels just yet.
