Wonder Woman Wins Top Honor At Golden Trailer Awards
When you're hot, you're hot.
After Wonder Woman topped the box office during its first weekend and gave Patty Jenkins the record for the biggest U.S. opening for a female director, the DC flick won the top prize at the 18th annual Golden Trailer Awards, according to Variety.
The event, held Tuesday (June 6) at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, paid tribute to the best movie, TV, and video game trailers of the year. While there are 115 different categories (including for posters, TV spots, and more), only 17 awards were handed out at the ceremony. Wayne Brady served as the host, and presenters included John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski and Law & Order actress Elisabeth Rohm.
The Wonder Woman trailer "What She Is" won the best of show prize along with the award for best fantasy/adventure trailer. The LEGO Batman Movie also won five awards.
Warner Bros. (which includes HBO and New Line Cinema) dominated the awards with 26 total, Fox won 15, and Disney and Netflix each took seven. You can watch a selection of the winning trailers on the awards show website, but we've got a rundown of some of the winners below.
