The Defenders Join Forces In New Team Photo

The gang's all here, but they're not exactly happy about it.

Empire magazine has released a new group image for the upcoming Netflix series Marvel's The Defenders. The snap brings together all four members of the titular team, and shoves them in an elevator.

Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) stands to the left, sporting her signature black leather jacket, a khaki messenger bag, and a pretty serious smolder. Falling behind her is Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), the Buddhist billionaire that packs a supernaturally strong punch. Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is as unassuming as ever, shown standing just off-center with a hood covering his eyes. Our final fierce hero is Luke Cage (Mike Colter) who mirrors Jessica's hands-in-pockets pose and stern visage.

Though they look a less than enthused in this new picture, Cox reassured fans that each hero gets their due respect. "I was concerned about how you could combine these worlds. Tonally they feel so different," Cox told Empire. "But it feels like all the characters have been respected, and the show has a tone of its own."

However, this doesn't mean it'll be smooth sailing for the Defenders, said Colter. "Nobody really wants to work with anyone. By the end of the show, I think it might be more like The Hangover," he joked. "[Like], 'I don't ever want to see you again!'"

Joining the fearsome four are Sigourney Weaver as the villainous Alexandra, Élodie Yung as Elektra Natchios, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight.

Here's the series synopsis: "Marvel's The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal: to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together."

Marvel's The Defenders is set to premiere on Netflix on August 18. While we try to wait patiently to see the team in action, find out the untold truth of the show's four heroes.
